THE INTERNET: Where Future Billions Will Be Made

by Kevin Nunley

There is now no doubt. The Internet really IS the biggest gold rush of our lifetime. It is unlikely you or I will get another chance as big as this one to earn huge profits anytime in the next 100 years. The World Wide Web is booming! Internet sales are growing by leaps and bounds, and even a dipping world economy can't make online entrepreneurs slow down or look back. Ninety-two million people in the US and Canada surf the Net. That's a whopping 16% jump in just nine months. People aren't just looking, they are also BUYING online. The number of online consumers has increased 40% in recent years to 28 million. Perhaps even more important, the number of women buying online went up 80% in the past nine months reaching the 10 million mark. It is time to get on board! This article tells you how to get online, get an Internet presence that SELLS, and get your piece of the new Internet pie. It is time for you to stake a place on the Net for yourself, your children, and the generations that follow. Someday people will look back and judge us as one of two groups: those who didn't recognize the digital revolution and missed the greatest chance of our age, and those who smartly made a place for themselves in a new business model that will dominate the future.

RUN A PERFECT HOME BUSINESS

You don't have to have a website to run a successful home business on the Internet. E-mail is the Net's most powerful and popular feature. You don't need an office in a prestigious address. Some of the Net's biggest earners work from a corner in their bedroom, still in their pajamas. Best of all, you don't need a wad of cash to get your home business ideas rolling. Hard work, dedication, vision, and a dream you are willing to see to the end are far more valuable than lavish start-up funds. There are an endless number of ways to make money on the Internet. You can offer a service delivered conveniently by e-mail. You can take orders for products that are shipped to customers in the US and around the world. It's possible to start your own e-mail newsletter and get paid for running other people's ads. Building a hot website and earning money by letting companies display their banners on your pages are also options. You can also earn a good extra income simply by referring customers to other companies with a link on your website or in your email messages.

NICHE YOUR MARKET AND PICK YOUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

The Internet is a big place. Millions of people are shouting about billions of products. Online advertising is low-cost, but it is also a little bit like yelling your message in a crowded football stadium. Try to advertise to everyone, and you will wind up getting the attention of no one. It's important to niche your marketing.

Begin by deciding exactly who will be your best prospects and customers. If you don't already have something to sell, start by looking for a big group that is online and needs help. After trying lots of things online, I found a huge number of people needed help writing copy. Many people don't like to write. They find they can't get started without web copy, sales letters, and ads. Lots of folks are more than happy to pay to have their copy written for them. They have a problem, and are looking for someone to sell a solution. Your best customers will be people who have pressing needs or problems you can solve. They hurt. You heal. Look for places your target audience goes to find products and services. What kinds of websites do they visit? What e-mail newsletters do they subscribe to? What magazines do they read? These are the media outlets you will use to market to your best prospects and customers. The more you know about your target audience, the better you will be able to reach it, and the bigger your sales will be. You can get information on customers by talking to them and by offering a questionnaire on your website or by e-mail. Give a free gift or special discount to those who complete your questionnaire. Good, precise targeting quadruples the effectiveness of your advertising and gets your cash register ringing.

Make your e-mail or website copy talk directly to your best customers. Use easy words and short sentences. Customers love to hear the benefits they will get after they buy from you. Talk about how the customers will save more, earn more, save time, or feel better. Provide examples or statistics that prove your claims. Include testimonials from satisfied customers. Seven Shortcuts to a Successful Internet Business

by Kevin Nunley

The Internet is a great equalizer giving opportunity to anyone willing to roll up their sleeves and go to work. But how do you build your own online empire when you're already busy with job and family? Here are seven tried-and-true shortcuts to get your online business up and profitable in record time.

1. Those snazzy corporate web sites now cost one million dollars and more. Customers expect your site to look almost as good. Professional designers spend years and thousands of dollars purchasing the right programs and learning how to use them. You can skip the learning curve by using a good template-based web design system. JustWebIt.com and others offer free systems you can use online to build your site. Simply type your headlines into the supplied boxes, add your copy, pull up the right graphics, and list your product prices. For a more advanced look that makes you look like you spent thousands on designers, try NetStudio. Get the free download at NetStudio.com. I'm about as graphics challenged as
anyone and I was able to churn out a killer web page in 15 minutes.

2. Skip the shopping cart and go with a good third-party credit card processor or one of the new generation of all-in-one solutions. A number of firms like ibill.com and ccnow.com give you an online order form, process your customer's credit cards, and deposit the funds into your bank account. They charge healthy percentages, but it's a no-cost way to start taking cards. Goemerchant.com has a one click "buy-me" system that lets you easily link their shopping cart to any product or service on your site. Watch for hidden merchant account fees. Especially be wary of credit card companies that say your shopping cart can be tied into their system with simple programming. One "simple" system turned out to be so complicated we had to hire two professional programmers for three days to hook it up.

3. Buying visitors for your web site can be very expensive. Advertising and marketing costs mount quickly. You can get thousands of visitors free by building attractive features into your site. Offer free software, free articles, or a free 7 lesson course via email. Think from the beginning how you can make your site attractive to search engines. Keep your site's theme narrow and well-focused. When prospects type a word that describes you into a search engine, your site will be far more likely to come up if your copy
revolves around that search topic.

4. Offer a service with plenty of profit built in. Think of something you, or someone you hire, can do to help businesses. The lion's share of commerce on the Internet consists of products and services sold to businesses. A good service can cost you very little to deliver and it can command a high price.

5. Create your own in-house email list. Spam is ineffective and often illegal. It's a much better idea to offer a newsletter or monthly update packed with helpful information your customers will appreciate. They will respond by saving your email, printing it off, and forwarding it to associates. Cut the time of producing and sending your newsletter with the no-cost Ezine Builder at e-zinez.com. Onelist.com and Topica.com offer free list management services that can save you hours each week.

6. Get help writing your web site copy. Effective copy can make a huge difference in how many people buy from your web site. One major company had us tweak their copy and sales doubled immediately. Having a professional writer do all your copy will probably be too expensive. Instead, write your copy yourself and have a professional writer fix it up. It may take no more
than an hour of their time.

7. Become an expert on something. Experts are in constant demand. Everyone wants to buy from an expert. Becoming known as an authority is probably easier than you realize. Spend time at your local library reading up on a subject your customers care about. Use search engines to find more information online. Jot down the things you learn and spin them into short articles. Use your own words. These eight simple shortcuts are the mortar behind many successful Internet businesses. Use them to smartly cut costs and speed your path to success.

Wired vs Wireless Networking

Many of the same network protocols, like TCP/IP, work in both wired and wireless networks. Networks with Ethernet cables predominated in businesses, schools, and homes for several decades. Recently, however, wireless networking alternatives have emerged as the premier technology for building new computer networks.

Network Protocols

In networking, the communication language used by computer devices is called the protocol. Yet another way to classify computer networks is by the set of protocols they support. Networks often implement multiple protocols to support specific applications. Popular protocols include TCP/IP, the most common protocol found on the Internet and in home networks.

Network Design

Computer networks also differ in their design. The two types of high-level network design are called client-server and peer-to-peer. Client-server networks feature centralized server computers that store email, Web pages, files and or applications. On a peer-to-peer network, conversely, all computers tend to support the same functions. Client-server networks are much more common in business and peer-to-peer networks much more common in homes.

A network topology represents its layout or structure from the point of view of data flow. In so-called bus networks, for example, all of the computers share and communicate across one common conduit, whereas in a star network, all data flows through one centralized device. Common types of network topologies include bus, star, ring and mesh.

Area Network

Networks can be categorized in several different ways. One approach defines the type of network according to the geographic area it spans. Local area networks (LANs), for example, typically reach across a single home, whereas wide area networks (WANs), reach across cities, states, or even across the world. The Internet is the world's largest public WAN.

What is (Wireless / Computer) Networking?

In the world of computers, networking is the practice of linking two or more computing devices together for the purpose of sharing data. Networks are built with a mix of computer hardware and computer software.

What is Network Marketing?

If your on this page, this is probably the question going through your mind right now what exactly is this network marketing business model.

This business is about utilizing your network and building new networks of customers and distributors to generate sales of products and services.

To this day, many “possibly even you” associate it unfairly as a pyramid or ponzi scheme. In the 1950's when Franchise’s first emerged they where labeled a scam, illegal etc.

Today, many traditional businesses embrace this form of marketing, it allows them to reach customers they might not otherwise. Generally, you cannot see them, it could be your next door neighbor is involved in it right now. Typically a home business does not have giant signs or large offices, yet according to the Direct Selling Association (DSA) over 13 million people in the U.S. are working within this business model.

It is a form of business in which you can make a small investment and through sheer tenacity achieve staggering levels of financial reward and personal freedom.

I believe Robert Kiyosaki summed it up nicely; it really is the
business school for people who like helping people!

Let’s take a look at the two types of business models that you could be involved in or approached with:
Network marketing / Multi-level marketing (MLM)

These companies typically though not always offer reasonably priced products and services that people consume in a short time. Generally, the commission structure is less up-front then the direct sales companies, but it has a benefit that most direct sales companies do not have which is the leverage from building an organization.

Today there are hundreds of companies you can look at, they cover everything from: Communication Services, Internet Access, Nutritional Products, Weight Loss Programs, Water Filtration Systems, Financial Programs, Electrical Power, Solar Power.

* Typically costs less to get involved, from free to a few hundred dollars.
* It allows more people to become directly involved.
* It can build lasting residual income.
* Leverages the time of others.

This business model is about sales and distribution; the ability to sell is the most important business skill you need. The best approach is the consultative sales approach, focusing on your customer’s needs.
Direct Sales Companies

These companies are known as seller-based, they market higher priced, usually one time sales items. The benefits of these programs are you make higher commissions, yet often they have very little if any residual income.

Essentially if you stop working so does your income, you are paid directly on what you personally sell, you have to sell lots and lots of merchandise. This also limits you to the type of people you can bring into your business as the “salesperson” type.

Affiliate programs fall under the direct sales company model. You only get paid when someone orders a product. There is nothing wrong with affiliate programs, some of them do produce a residual income as customers order the products or services on a continuous basis.

The only issue, I really have with many but not all affiliate programs, is the company then has the customer contact information and they really no longer need you anymore. It then becomes a one time sell for you, a long term contact for them.
If You Are Looking For A Business Education, This Might Just Be For You!

Starting and running your very own business is not an easy task. If you’re willing to put in the time to educate yourself, to learn the most important skill you’ll need in life, the ability to sell, then it just might be right for you.

If you not only like working with people, but also helping them get more out of life, then this might just be for you! On the other hand, if you’re only in it for the money, odds are you’ll probably fail!

This is an educational process to assist you in making the transition from an employee to a small business owner. Our basic education system, does not teach this they are there to prepare us to meet the needs of companies! Someone who can follow directions and show up on time! Our college system teaches us to be a good manager of these employees.

There are many pieces to this puzzle, that we have to put into place to create a successful home business. It is best summed up by; it’s not about the money, it’s not about the products, it’s the education plan that matters most! The question is do you want this education from Mike or Ann's basement or from a company that has been around the block and the statistics to back it up? If your going to be in this business become A true Network Marketing Professional!

I have found this to be a very rewarding career choice, the freedom from punching someone else’s clock, and now having to punch my own is really an eye opener. With todays economy the way it is, uncertain energy prices, working from home makes more sense then ever before.

Throughout this site, you’ll find additional pages and resources that will help give you a deeper understanding; pages like network marketing training, understanding compensation plans, and so many more.
